Equipment provided by Fjordsafari

The first step after your check-in at the FjordSafari reception in Flåm is getting dressed. We will guide you on what to wear and how to put it on, considering the weather and your current clothing. Fjordsafari provides the following equipment:

Fleece Tops and Bottoms

For very low temperatures or high winds, an extra insulating layer might be necessary. These fleece tops and bottoms are perfect for extremely cold days or if you arrive underdressed. You might need both pieces or none, depending on the weather.

Cover boots

These windproof overshoes are designed to keep your feet warm and dry. Available in various sizes, they are worn over your regular winter boots to protect your feet from the cold and wet conditions.

Flotation Suits

Our flotation suits, provided for all guests, ensure maximum safety and comfort in any weather. These suits are insulating, windproof, and waterproof. All guests are required to wear both the flotation suit and a life vest.

Life Vests

Life vests are crucial for any water-based adventure, ensuring buoyancy and safety in the unlikely event of falling overboard. Modern life vests are lightweight, comfortable, and allow full mobility while providing peace of mind.

Hats

A hat helps retain body heat, as a significant amount of heat is lost through the head.

Wool Mittens

Wool is excellent for winter warmth and retains heat even when wet. Unlike gloves, mittens keep fingers together, retaining body heat more effectively.

Windproof Mitts

These larger mittens serve as a cover or outer layer, windproof and keeping your insulating wool mittens dry.

Goggles

Goggles are essential for protection against wind and cold, reducing glare from the sun reflecting off snow and water. They allow you to fully appreciate the breathtaking scenery while staying safe and comfortable.

Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the stunning winter landscape!
